About me
I’m Naheel N Akhtar, an AI/ML engineer and game developer in Bangalore. AI and games are the two things I love building, and I take both seriously.
Some days I’m prompting and evaluating models. Other days I’m deep in an Unreal Engine shader.
AI is what I trained for and what I want to keep building. I studied Computer Science with a specialisation in AI and ML at Presidency University, and since then I’ve built AI tools engineers relied on every day, including Copilot agents for robotics teams at ABB and an LLM log analyzer that the QA team kept running after I handed it over. I’ve also published NLP research on counter speech.
Games pull at me just as hard. What started as fun became NodeCraft, an Unreal Engine plugin I designed, built, documented and now sell on Fab. Now I’m building an original game in Unreal Engine, and modelling its world myself in Blender. It stays under wraps until launch.
The two meet more often than you’d think. My Generative Agents project put AI characters in a small Pygame world, and AI agents are part of how I build everything now. What ties it together is that I like shipping: I want the thing in someone’s hands, with docs and an owner, running without me.

Habits I bring to every project
Ship, then keep shipping
NodeCraft went from 1.0 to 1.1 in eight days, fixing a serious bug on the way, and 1.2 was packaged two weeks later. Small releases, real users, quick fixes.
Write it down
Buyer docs for NodeCraft, handover docs at ABB, and a notes vault for every project, so a teammate, or an AI agent, can pick up exactly where I left off.
AI as a pair programmer
I work with Claude Code on my own projects. I set the design and the rules, review what it writes, test every build, and keep the decisions mine.
Build for the weakest machine
My game targets 30 FPS on an old laptop with integrated graphics, and every NodeCraft theme has a measured cost. Performance is part of the design, not a cleanup.

Unreal Engine editor plugin, sold on Fab
- Designed, built and documented a plugin that restyles Unreal’s Blueprint and Material editors.
- Shipped 1.0 and 1.1 in September 2026, with a docs site and a Discord for support. 1.2 is packaged with two new themes and Match Editor Colors. See NodeCraft
